Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hardcourt
A comeback the Russian player won his initial championship for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid season, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in specific - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with former mentor Cervara.
Now training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first championship after the Rome competition and initial on a hard court since spring of that year.
Victory also signifies he has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's defensive approach and regular outbursts on the playing surface had led some to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and play assertively, reinforced by an improved service.
The champion came back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
The pair exchanged break points in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first ATP Tour championship, took control to push for a decider.
The opponent rescued 4 early break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he secured victory with a rally at the net, with Moutet unable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
